About the Role

Diamantina Shire Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber to maintain and repair water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure in the remote but welcoming township of Bedourie.

This is a hands-on role focused on delivering essential services for our community through reliable plumbing, drainage, and reticulation systems. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure while contributing to a safe and healthy outback town.

What You'll Do

Install, maintain and repair water and wastewater systems

Conduct testing and inspections to meet licensing and safety standards

Assist with pool and facility maintenance

Supervise apprentices and help develop safe work practices

Liaise with Council teams, contractors, and community members

What You’ll Need

Essential:

Trade qualifications and current plumbing licence

‘C’ Class QLD Driver's Licence

Construction White Card

Willingness to obtain Working with Children Blue Card and required immunisations

Ability to work independently and contribute to a small team environment

Desirable:

HR licence, gas fitting certification, confined space training

Additional trade qualifications (e.g., backflow prevention, solar hot water)

Plant operation experience and First Aid/CPR
