About the Role

We're seeking passionate and experienced professionals to join Council's Building Approval and Certification Team. You will work alongside a dedicated and skilled team to drive effective communication and champion Council’s policies and legislative requirements, guiding clients, staff, and external agencies on matters related to Building Surveying, Certification, Planning, and Fire Safety.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health and Building, Building Surveying or a related field.
• Registration with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveyor – restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings).
• Class C Drivers Licence.
• A sound working knowledge of NSW Planning Legislation as it relates to the position.
• Demonstrated experience in assessment and inspection of Class 1 and 10 Buildings under the National Construction Code as well as assessment of Section 68 matters including sanitary drainage.
• Demonstrated provision of consistent high-level customer service.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring. (applicable for Senior Building Surveyor)
• Demonstrated experience in problem solving, solution focus and process improvement. (applicable for Senior Building Surveyor)
