Salary
$82,534* to $92,425* per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a
9 day fortnight. *Award increase of 3% to be applied from 14 July 2025.
Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the role
The Payroll Officer is part of a small team that delivers the fortnightly payment of salaries and
wages, and other payroll related functions, to all employees. It is a customer service orientated
role providing advice and support across all levels of Council. The position works closely with the Payroll Team Leader and the broader People and Culture Team to deliver a critical service to the business.
Position requirements
The position requires you to have;
• Solid experience in payroll processing, operating procedures and award interpretation
• Substantial knowledge and operation of payroll systems, preferable Tech1 and/or Kronos time and attendance
• Sound knowledge of relevant taxation and superannuation legislation
• Sound reconciliation skills in relation to payroll, superannuation and workers compensation
• Well-developed computer literacy across the Microsoft suite including Excel advanced
• Excellent time management skills

You are a team player with a focus on providing a quality customer service while building solid relationships throughout Council. You have superior time management skills and act with integrity to deliver results at all times.
