We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health / Disability Support Worker to support a young adult in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment in South Ripley.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in managing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) and who is confident working with restrictive practices. About the Role You’ll be supporting the participant primarily at home and at their family residence. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
Encouraging and supporting hobbies like Marvel, Anime, and computer gaming
Promoting emotional regulation, independence, and general well-being
Key Requirements
Minimum 6–12 months experience in mental health or disability support
Experience implementing PBSPs and working under restrictive practices
Ability to work independently and respond confidently to behaviours of concern
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
Comfortable working in both SIL and family home environments
Mandatory Licences & Checks
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check – QLD)
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Manual Handling training (completed within the past 12 months)
Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
There are two rosters on offer. You must be available for all day and times listed on the roster you decide to proceed with.
Roster – Permanent part-time
Week 1:
Tuesday: 6:00am – 4:00pm
Wednesday: 6:00am – 4:00pm
Week 2:
Tuesday: 6:00am – 4:00pm
Wednesday: 6:00am – 4:00pm
Saturday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Sunday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Roster - Casual
Week 1:
Thursday 4pm - 10pm (active) then 10pm - 6am sleepover
Saturday 2pm - 10pm (active) then 10pm - 6am sleepover
Week 2:
Thursday 4pm - 10pm (active) then 10pm - 6am sleepover
