We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Saleyards Administration Officer to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the saleyards, ensuring smooth and efficient processes for buyers, sellers, and staff. Term:                        Casual

Hours of Work:         Availability for casual role Monday-Friday

Pay Level:                 $44.41 to $47.30 per hour (Level 2), plus superannuation and annual leave loading

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience. 

Employment Base:  Warwick, Queensland 

 

About the Department

The Corporate Services Department comprises four core functions of Council. Together the various teams hold carriage of governance, customer service, saleyards management and land management.

Corporate Governance is responsible for ensuring that Council meets its legislative requirements, adheres to regulatory bodies and delivers on community expectation.

From within Council’s major administrative centres in Stanthorpe and Warwick, Customer Service delivers a high level of frontline customer resolution for both internal and external stakeholders both in person and online.

Through the Warwick Saleyards Council facilitates the delivery of livestock sales on a weekly basis for the region’s beef and sheep producers.

Council’s Land Management team coordinates the leasing of land and facilities, approves easements and permanent road closures and, provides advise on the sustainability of assets across all business units of Council.

  • Input sales data into the Saleyards computer program
  • Retrieve relevant saleyard reports from the computer program
  • Prepare accounts for the Finance team
  • Basic administration tasks

What You Will Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Office administration experience including demonstration of accurate data entry
  • Well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of customers
  • Sound keyboard skills and experience in current office computer programs
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a team environment
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description
