About the Role

The position of Night Patrol Team Leader – Alpurrurulam aims to ensure the Community Safety and Wellbeing Program in the Barkly Region is a strong, vibrant community program that fits the needs of the community and is accountable to the program funding body for the effective delivery of community safety across the Barkly Region. 

The position will support and respect Aboriginal Culture by providing leadership to the Community Safety staff and providing a safe community through regular working community safety services to encourage community participation and promote individual and community well-being whilst minimising the harm that is associated with alcohol and other drugs.  

This position coordinates the planning and development of Youth, Sport, and Recreation Programs within the community through their understanding and awareness of current issues and opportunities.

The Essentials

• Ability to work outside of ordinary business hours such as evening and night shifts.

• The ability to apply a culturally appropriate approach to community issues and meet the physical demands of the position. 

• Current Driver’s Licence.

• Current National Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).

• Current Northern Territory Working with Children’s Clearance (Ochre Card).

• Current First Aid

• You have experience working with Aboriginal communities and an understanding of cultural sensitivities.

• You have strong leadership and communication skills.

• You have a commitment to building a safer and healthier community.

The Finer Details

• Full-Time - Temporary position paying Level 3 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.

• Annual Salary of $55.221.00 per annum ($2,123.88 gross per fortnight).

• Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $2.51 per ordinary hour.

• 11.5% Superannuation. 

• Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
