The role & you

This varied engineering role sits within the Water Management and Treatment department of the Infrastructure & Engineering Services Division. This role is responsible for ensuring the ongoing development, implementation and review of a range of potable, recycled and wastewater treatment processes.

This role is perfect for someone who is highly motivated and passionate about water management and treatment. You’ll be a strong communicator who enjoys sharing your knowledge and expertise whilst providing guidance and support to all operational staff involved in delivering  optimised treatment processes.

You will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships both internally and externally. In addition to this you will be degree qualified in Chemical Process Engineering with demonstrated experience working in the water and sewerage industry.

Salary: Base salary $91,800 p.a. - $100,900 p.a. (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications, skills and experience) 

  • Civil Liability Allowance (3.5% of base salary)
  • Superannuation (11.5%)

A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
