As a Community Development Practitioner, you will contribute your experience and leadership to strengthen communities ensuring they are engaged and actively participating in community life. You will thrive in a flexible environment and will lead and develop services, events and offerings to progress community connections within the Charles Sturt area.
This role involves supervising and leading community centre employees and volunteers. It ensures effective program implementation, fosters professional development, maintains operational excellence, and aligns with organisational goals.

About Our Team:
Our Community Development team provides safe, welcoming and inclusive environments where the community can connect and engage in activities that enhance wellbeing and strengthen community capacity. This is undertaken across Council’s five community centres, and the Brocas Youth Centre and within the community. The team uses a community development approach to empower community members and create stronger and more connected communities.
The Detail:
The position is offered on a part-time (0.8FTE), permanent basis and is classified at Level 5, with a starting salary range of of $100,774 - $105,111 per annum (pro-rata) + Super + Annual Leave Loading.
A current unprohibited Working with Children Check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (Police check) must be maintained for the duration of the employment period in this prescribed position.
